Cristal Union has published its CSR report for 2020/21
This year, our CSR report highlighted the strength of our cooperative model and the relevance of our strategy which combines performance and sustainability. At Cristal Union, collective logic has always been our raison d'être and our driving force to anticipate changes, defend our values and meet challenges. Proud to be a cooperative, we know that our union gives rise to our success: that of ever more responsible agricultural, industrial and commercial expertise.
As the cooperative's longest-running operation, sugar production represents nearly two-thirds of Cristal Union's revenue. The Group's 8 sugar factories convert sugar beets grown by cooperative members into sugar destined for large retailers and industrial applications.
The product of fermentation and distillation of agricultural raw materials, ethyl alcohol is produced from sugar beets, whole wheat and wine substrates. Our industrial facility fitted with the latest technology allows us to offer a very wide range and high-quality products.
The by-products from the sugar production process (sugar beet pulp) and distilleries (wheat biomass), as well as harvested alfalfa are processed in the dehydration units. Processed granulates ads energy and protein to animal feed.
