Cristalco is creating a “Feed” business unit dedicated to market beet pulp, wheat distillers and molasses.

For the marketing year 2023/24: 500,000 tons of these co- products will be sold to the animal feed and fermentation markets

Cristalco, one of the European leaders in the sale of sugar, alcohol and bioethanol market, is strengthening its activity with the creation of a Feed business unit dedicated to the marketing of sugar and distillery by-products destined for animal feed and the fermentation industry.

A Feed business unit dedicated to animal feed and fermentation

For the year 2023/24, Cristalco plans to market 500,000 tonnes of beet pulp, wheat distillers and molasses produced by the Cristal Union Group with its Prodéva and Sidésup subsidiaries.

The first deliveries in France and Europe will be made in October 2023. In the medium-term, the objective is to develop tailor-made products to meet the specific needs and requirements of the livestock and fermentation.

The business activity of Cristalco’s Feed business unit will be dedicated specifically to the animal feed and fermentation markets, using by-products of the Cristal Union Group. In parallel, the group will continue to allocate part of its beet pulps to both its cooperative members and its carbon neutral strategy producing biobased energy in its sugar factories.

An organisation best suited to meeting customer needs

Ludovic Brasset, current Head of Cristalco’s BtoB sugar division, takes over as Head of the Feed business unit at the beginning of April 2023.
